Bloody hell,good on those Aussie's.
The hardest game in sport is played out in front of a capacity crowd in Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.
Full house and due to a closed border with NSW and other states only Queenslanders alowed in.
Having spent 10yrs in OZ grew to love and appreciate this tough,tough game.
Brad Fittler and Wayne Bennett,legends in their sport are the coaches.
Even Ray Warren and Phil Gould are the commentators ,product placing duo if ever there was a couple.
Enjoy with no masks,brilliant.

No, it wasn’t just luck. That’s the opposite of what I said.
You’re arguing Queensland developed herd immunity with only 2,000 reported cases, yet Sweden hasn’t with 200,000 cases? Or the US with 12 million?
This is getting a bit loony, so I’ll leave it there.

Actually, it was neither, it was simply not performing routine PCR tests as happens elsewhere.
If QLD had done so, it would have had lots of positive results too.

I don't think you understand how lockdowns work, Ronald0. They're not magic. They don't magically make the virus disappear forever. At best they just end the current wave, and after that you hope it doesn't creep back through the borders. The virus started up again by escaping hotel quarantine in Melbourne. They were unlucky. Queensland has been luckier, which is why life has returned to normal there. It wouldn't have returned to normal without border closures and lockdown.
Has life returned to normal in the UK? In America? In Sweden?

Even what you posted there says that Queensland's border wasn't "closed to the rest of the world".
As for those dates stated, the April dates are about right, as well as restrictions, but it was very short lived compared to other states and countries.
Within a few weeks the only difference to normal was perspex screens and stickers on the floor in the shops, and a bit more spacing in restaurants.
Behaviours of some changed for a short time in late March/early April, but most quickly returned pretty much to normal.
Very few people have worn masks here at any time.
It's been like there's a pandemic because .... well there just IS!
As for January 29th, they should have let the general public know, because NOTHING changed until late March.
If lockdowns were so effective, Victoria would have been back to normal months ago.

They've had few cases but are being extra strict. I'm still waiting for Melbourne to open and will likely have to spend 2 weeks in a hotel doing quarantine.
The players have spent months in a bubble with limited contact with he outside so they could finish the season. Especially tough on the NZ team.

About 10 years ago I watched Brisbane play North QLD at Suncorp in front of a full house - amazing stadium.
Staggering that the game today had 52,000 in attendance! Interesting how few COVID deaths there have been in Oz - WA hasn't had a single case for 7 months.

NSW & Qld are the only true rugby league states and coming from WA dont recall anyone from other states picking a side.
The problem in Aust sport at the moment isnt really about getting people into grounds in some states its about the closed borders and quarantine requirements between states.
The AFL & NRL managed to get their seasons done with players going into hubs mainly in Qld, WA & SA.
The big money maker is the Aust v India Test series and they are having to bend over backwards to get players in the right places to get that done.

I like Ray Warren, but can't stand Gould. He talks so much shit.
They tried a similar formula to SoO in England with the Roses games between Lancs and Yorks, but it didn't take off.

Looking at the winning moments and the players congratulating each other,hugging,exchanging bodily fluids. Great to see a crowd. As thought this year's problems had never occured.
